Goldheist (Single Launch)

TBA

G O L D H E I S T is a mystifying mix of classic and kooky. There is a candid intimacy to her performance which belies the exquisite, crystalline accuracy with which it is delivered. Her voice is raw and ethereal, with echoes of Kate Bush, Annie Lennox and Bonnie Raitt.

Originally hailing from rural northern NSW, her songs tell quirky stories of love, life and adventure, painting vibrant pictures of the Australian bush and country living. Kickstarting her career with her debut release "Dust" in early 2014, GOLDHEIST toured around NSW raising funds and awareness for drought relief. Her duo, formed with drummer Mark Spiteri, has a surprisingly complete, full rounded sound for a two-man-band, and has had a powerful effect on audiences across the board. Traveling with associate artist Natalie Magee, the team covered over 1745km. Seven shows later in Armidale, Tamworth, Gloucester, Mudgee, Yass, Canberra and Sydney, the GOLDHEIST story was starting to take shape.

At the conclusion of the DUST for Drought Relief Tour, GOLDHEIST released her second single, "Let Me Be", a dreamy, searching song about love across the seas. Both "Dust" and "Let Me Be" were included on her record Call Of The Wild, a compilation of live and studio tracks released in late 2014.

Other highlights from 2014 included Sydney performances at Oxford Art Factory, The Vanguard and The Hollywood Hotel, as well as appearances at the Manly and Pyrmont Food And Wine Festivals. In November, GOLDHEIST was a Finalist in The Silver Saddle Competition, going on to perform at the Sydney Country Music Festival. She then embarked upon The Little SPRING Tour, with a short run of shows in Gloucester, Moonan Flat, Wongwibinda and Bellingen.

2015 is set to be an exciting year for GOLDHEIST. Starting with a stellar ten days at the Tamworth Country Music Festival, where she was a Finalist in the Toyota Busking Championships, and following up with performances at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, the Melbourne Pavilion, and in the Groovin' The Blues Mini-Festival, GOLDHEIST will also be appearing at the Urban Country Music Festival in Caboolture and the Who'd A Thought? Festival in Quirindi, as well as releasing a new single in May, “Dragons”, which will be included in the soundtrack for feature film Beijing Being.

With sparkling piano, thunderous beats, and a voice equally powerful and tender, GOLDHEIST is an established new Australian artist who will leave audiences enchanted and enthralled...

Nico, Im not Creative I've got Bipolar

Following a successful run of her comedy cabaret show “I’m not creative, I’ve got bipolar” during the Melbourne International Comedy Festival last month, Nico is continuing her ‘self made tour’ in Sydney (for the second time this year) by planting her feet upon the dazzling set that is, The Vanguard.

Avoiding doctors and therapists for a long time, Nico decided to do a bit of webmd.com to research the symptoms of Bipolar.

After some thorough research and jaw dropping discoveries, she realised she had over five different types of Bipolar.

She slammed her hands down onto the desk, stared into the computer screen with tears running down her face and yelled out to the empty room...."I'm not creative, I've got Bipolar". She was sure of it.

She's not shy of bursting out into song down the street, in the supermarket or waiting in the line at Centerlink BUT if anybody does have a problem with it, she can be justified. She's got bipolar.

“Nico is such a likeable and quintessentially Australian character. She’s unpretentious, wry, gutsy and says everything she probably shouldn’t. Marrying that with a form that is all about aesthetics, control and performance just works.”

– Scott Mitchell, Editor VICE Melbourne.

We All Want To (Album Tour)

There’s something strangely familiar about the new album from Brisbane wunderkinds WE ALL WANT TO. It’s there in the lines of the opening track, the golden memory of a summer of innocence, of teenage love, burning sand, cloudless skies. It’s a half-imagined recollection of other days, viewed through the skewed prism of time and perhaps a late-afternoon buzz. Evocative, compelling and urgent, it’s the sound of a band hitting new heights as songwriters and performers. There’s more focus on guitars, and the songs are shorter and hit harder. This time around, there’s a new directness to what they’re saying. So by now you know the story – a collective of sorts, more than the sum of its parts – not quite a supergroup, but definitely one worth knowing about. Their previous two albums were widely praised, both in Australia and in the US where they made quite a splash on college radio. Their 2012 album ‘Come Up Invisible’ made the AMP long list, was a finalist for Queensland Album of the Year, and shifted a serious number of albums for an indie release. This is whip-smart rock music, made for all kinds of audiences in all kinds of places.

After the success of, WE ALL WANT TO gigged heavily all over Australia, as well as presenting some wildlysuccessful theatre shows in their hometown of Brisbane. A burst of songwriting in early 2014 prepared the way for the recording of ‘The Haze’ which was again done at The Shed in Brisbane, then mixed with Wayne Connolly in Sydney. The band’s third album is 39 minutes of concise, literate and intelligent songs, full of meaning and deliberate imagery. Take Skye’s fragile and glorious “Remove The Arrow”, vulnerable yet tough, or the empathy of “Wish You Didn’t Go Straight”, which beautifully captures the pain of moving away from the life you once had. Sure, there’s heartbreak here, but it’s balanced with a wry smile – time has healed these wounds, and this is the sound of a band comfortable with their choices and confident enough to share it all with you. There’s a real power to this record, and it pulls off the neat trick of being both clearly innovative and deeply familiar, much like their intimate yet explosive live shows. ‘The Haze’ will be released on May 8, 2015, via MGM Distribution. The first single from the album is ‘Road To Ruin’ which is set to be unveiled on March 27.
WE ALL WANT TO will announce an extensive touring schedule for May and June to celebrate the album’s release. And yes, WA and Tasmania, you’re on the list. In the meantime keep an eye on the band’s website and socials for updates, videos and news. It’s going to be a busy year…
